As I was sitting in the ‘cane egg’ on the veranda of our Healsville house last weekend watching the deep Forrest around me, I was reminded of the layers of life. I could only see Forrest as far as my eyes could see and as I watched the thick mist come and go I became aware of the layers that made up the mystical sight before me. As I sat the curled up under a warm blanket in the chilly mountain air allowing my thoughts to pass by like clouds in the sky, some wisdom dropped in the space that was surfacing.
“Notice the layers of the Forrest are like those of our human experience.” Things generally aren’t what we seem, in the sense that there are more layers between where you are and what you see. Think of the mind chatter, the outdated beliefs, and the labels our mind places upon things. Imagine simply being in this moment and letting go of all of those layers. What do you see now? How do you feel now? What do you know now? What more can you sense? What would it be like to be fully present in this very moment? To say yes to this now? For me, it’s a sense of deep peace, and releasing of any anxieties. It’s the expansiveness of this moment, a deepening of stillness and noticing even more richness in this moment. Practicing being in the now is such a powerful tool and I am in awe of the intuitive wisdom that drops in in the space of stillness. What about you? How do you feel when you are present? And what brings you into this moment? Big love and hugs, Steph xx
